How to Become a True Crime Writer

I liked how this post didn’t treat true crime as just chasing shocking headlines. The idea that good true crime writing starts with listening, empathy, and solid research really stood out. It also made me laugh a little at the reminder that our writer ego sometimes wants to be the main character instead of the story itself. That’s a lesson worth keeping. Have you ever had to cut a great anecdote because it distracted from the real story?
